Budova přezdívána Mordor byla slavnostně otevřena 3.1.1980. Jednalo se tehdy největší budovou v Československu co do obestavěného prostoru. Unikátní byla nejen pro svou velikost, ale i použitými technologiemi a složitostí. Autory jsou stejní architekti, kteří navrhli mimo jiné pavilon EXPO 58. Mordor je tvořen dvěma budovami. Střed budovy, ze které vyrůstá věž, obsahuje obrovské sály s technologiemi, po obvodu najdete klasické kanceláře. Druhá budova (ta přeplášťovaná) obsahuje administrativní zázemí a jídelnu. Věž je koncipována jako samostatná stavba, což je zajímavý fakt v případě, že by se vlastník rozhodl stavbu zbourat, může věž ponechat a řídit z ní svět, v posledním patře je totiž super kancelář.

Nicknamed “Mordor” and designed by the same architects as the Expo 58 pavilion, the Central Telecommunications Building was solemnly opened on March 1st, 1980. At that time, it was the largest building in terms of volume in Czechoslovakia. A very unique building, not only due to its size, but also due to the used technologies and their complexity. The “Mordor” complex has two parts. The central part comprises a tall tower and all the enormous halls full with communications technology. The periphery of its floor plan is occupied with plenty of office spaces. The second part, located to the west of the first, combines a variety of administration spaces and a cafeteria. The tower is actually designed as a separate part, which becomes interesting in the moment the owner would decide to tear down the rest of the complex and settle in the top floor of the tower, from where he could control the world. That is to say, the top floor contains a super control room.
