Televizní věž vysoká 216 metrů se dostala do žebříčku nejošklivějších staveb světa. Její historie sahá až do roku 1974, kdy bylo rozhodnuto o nutnosti výstavby nového rozhlasového a televizního vyílače. Původně měla tomuto záměru ustoupit Petřínská rozhledna, nakonec byly vybrány Mahlerovy sady na Žižkově. Geniální statik Juraj Kozák ve spolupráci s Alexem Bémem navrhli konstrukční řešení, Václav Aulický architektonickou stránku. Věž je tvořena třemi ocelovými tubusy na které jsou zavěšeny zaoblené krychličky, v nichž se nachází restaurační zařízení i hotelový provoz. Stavba je představitelem kvalitní high - tech architektury. Interiéry prošly celkem zdařilou rekonstrukcí, bohužel kvůli nové technologii byl odstraněn kryt anténního nástavce, což negativně ovlivnilo vzhled věže. Od devadesátých let šplhají po vysílači miminka od Davida Černého.

The 216-meter-high television tower was once ranked among the world's ugliest buildings. Its history dates back to 1974, when it was decided that Prague needs a new radio and television broadcasting facility. Originally, the Petřín Lookout Tower was to give way for the new television tower, but eventually, a new spot was chosen: the Mahler Park in Žižkov. Brilliant structural engineer Juraj Kozák designed, together with Alex Bém, the structural design and Václav Aulický was responsible for the architectural design. The tower is composed of various rounded cubes suspended from three gigantic steel tubes. Those cubes house a sky restaurant and hotel. All in all, the building is a fine representative of High-tech architecture. Even the interiors have undergone quite a successful reconstruction. Recently the tower lost its protective extension that was an important element in its overall architectural appearance. Since the 1990s one can observe David Černý’s giant babies climbing the tower.
